How do I get to La Balise Marina?
La Balise Marina is in Rivière Noire on the west coast of Mauritius, on the coastal road between Tamarin and Le Morne. It is about 50 minutes by car from the airport, 30 minutes from Flic en Flac and 90 minutes from Grand Baie. Parking at the marina is free.

Route stops
- La Balise Marina (DEPART): Home port in Rivière Noire. Free parking, coffee at the quay, 30 minutes before departure. Every expedition starts and ends here.
- Tamarin Bay (05:30 – 10:00): The dolphins’ resting bay. We idle in from the south, engines off at 50 m, and let the pod decide how close.
- Île aux Bénitiers (12:00 – 13:30): Two kilometres of filaos and white sand. The sandbank for swimming, the beach for lunch on the grill.
- Crystal Rock (07:00 – 17:30): A coral-ringed limestone rock standing clear of the lagoon with Le Morne as the backdrop. Snorkel stop on every expedition, tide permitting.
- Le Morne (15:00 – 19:00): UNESCO-listed mountain at the island’s south-west tip. Sheltered lagoon at its foot; copper at sunset.
